My favorite trainer from the Pokèmon series. No overly flashy look, stands out from his anime counterpart, Ash, and is one of the coolest fights when playing Gold and Silver.

That was before Min/Maxing you Pokèmon was a normal thing and any fight in the regular game is trivial. I can certainly say I enjoyed the RPG portion of the game a lot more than the PvP portion that comes after.
